Same great foundation … convenient and environmentally-friendly!
This review is not really about the foundation - which is great, but I and others have already reviewed it in the main foundation listing. This review is about the packaging and the experience of refilling it, because presumably if you’ve gotten to the point of needing the refill you already know and like the foundation.
My refill cartridge arrived quickly and was packaged entirely in paper-based recyclable shipping box, packing material, and inner product box, and I really appreciate this attention to detail. I also appreciate that it arrived quickly but not *too* quickly - part of the reason I like Trestique is that they’re putting serious effort into being low-environmental-impact, and the shipping time told me they had used ground-based shipping and not stuck it on a plane to get it there a couple of days faster.
Once I got the refill, it was super easy to remove the old cartridge and click the new one back into place and keep using it like normal. I’m saving the spent cartridge to recycle through Pact once I get a few more empties.
I replaced the applicator sponge for my foundation stick at the same time, because the sponge was crumbling away and in pretty bad shape by the time I got to the end of the foundation stick. I actually ordered a replacement contour brush (like the one on the blush sticks) to replace it - it fits perfectly in the same spot and so far, a week in, it’s been blending the foundation really well.
